The outline of your term paper. Your outline for your term paper will contain the main ideas you have and your writing style that you are planning to use. This will help you when writing, as everything you’ve written can be tracked back to it. This will help you stay on track and ensure that you don’t have to write on the same topic again. In reverse order, your outline should be written. Begin with the simplest idea and move up to the more complex.

Theme. The theme is the general topic or the subject of your writing or research assignment. It should connect all the elements and provide direction. Most students start their research and writing projects with a general topic in mind, like an introduction, and then break their research into more specific areas. Your term paper format should reflect this format and provide guidelines regarding how you can proceed from topic to. For example, if you’re writing an essay, you would begin with an introduction, create an argumentative thesis, then discuss the various aspects of your subject, and then give supporting details, including references and so on.

Objective. You must compose a term paper organized around its main point(s). Every part of your research should revolve around the main aspect. All other details and information you gather should also be based around this topic. If you are writing an essay on Shakespeare your primary topic should be about his life and work. You should conclude your essay with a review of the lessons you have learned from his plays and also using quotes from him (and the play)..

Your references list will allow your reader to check whether the information you’ve provided on your work is accurate and will also give an idea of the degree of expertise your research entails.
